The group is an active family orientated group which has supported scouting on Salisbury Plain since the 1940's. We have approximately 40 members aged between 6 and 14; these are supported by 9 leaders/section supporters and a group executive committee. The group is arranged into three sections:
The Beaver Colony for 6 to 8 year olds. The Cub Pack for 8 to 10 year olds.
The Scout Troop for 10 to 14 year olds.
These sections are run by adult volunteers, who are there to help young people enjoy an attractive and enjoyable programme throughout the year and to put the 'OUT' in "ScOUTing".
The group aims to provide a balanced programme of personal development for its members as they grow up within our group. The programme promotes the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectural, social and spiritual potential, as indiviuala, as responsible citizens and members of their local, national and international communities.
One of the aims of Boscombe down scout group during the early part of 2007, is tp support the salisbury plain District by opening an Explorer Unit, this will enable us to support those members of the movement between the ages of 14 to 18
