The new Amesbury Archer Primary School will be opening in Amesbury in September 2006. The school is being built to accommodate children from the new Persimmon housing development to the south of the town. It will be a seven class school open to children of all abilities

Admissions to the new school

The new school will be open for children whose birthday falls between 1st September 1995 and 31st August 2002. Application forms for places at the new school can be obtained from County Hall, Trowbridge on 01225 713000. Completed forms should be returned to the School Admisions Team in Trowbridge as soon as possible

The school will serve all the new houses in the Persimmon development as well as these streets:
Beyer Road, Blackcross Road, Chambers Avenue, Diddledown Road, Evergreen Way, Harvard Way, Kickdom Close, Leonard Cheshire Close, Mckie Road, and Underwood Drive.

Top priority for places will be given to children who live in the designated area. Children from outside this area will be ranked using distance as the determining factor; those living nearest the new school will have priority. Initially the school will be admitting 15 children into each of seven year groups. As the number of new houses increases the roll will expand to 30 in each year group.

Full details about the admissions procedure are given in the booklet "Finding a Primary School Place". Copies of this booklet are available from County Hall or Salisbury Contactpoint.

Official Opening 10 November 2006
