Who can use our service

We are happy to receive enquiries from people personally or through their Doctors, Nurses or Social Services. There is no age limit and we offer help to old and young alike.

Our Organisation

The first Link set up in 1979 was the brain child of a General Practioner, Dr John McQuitty, who felt that the community would be well served by a group of volunteers who would support the professional and statutory bodies. Thus the Box-Colerne-Rudloe Branch was set up in his memory.

The Amesbury Link Scheme was formed in April 1996. We have a committee, chaired by the Reverend Peter Lewis, who see to the day to day running of Link and our volunteers are all local people who provide this service to our community. We receive an annual grant from Wiltshire Social services and we endeavour to raise funds from local events. We make no charges for our services but are always grateful for any donations particulaly for transport. Our drivers are able to claim a mileage allowance to cover the cost of petrol and all our volunteers give their time freely.

If you feel that you can help the Amesbury-Boscombe Down Link Scheme by becoming a volunteer in your spare time please ring 01980 626476 for full details.
